Dairy person wanted

Updated: Mar 18, 2021

We've now found someone thank you

We are a small farm based near Carnwath/ Biggar in Lanarkshire, we milk around 130 goats all year round and 300 dairy sheep (February - September). Animals are housed during the winter and go out to grass once the grass starts growing in the spring (weather dependent for goats). All the milk is made into raw milk cheese on the farm so hygiene and animal husbandry are key.

We are looking for someone with an interest in dairy sheep and goats to assist a small team with:

  • milking

  • tractor work, bedding, feeding

  • checking stock

  • rearing lambs & kids

  • foot trimming

  • general animal care

  • general farm maintenance

Must be flexible, able to work by yourself and as part of a team, good attention to detail, love sheep and goats (animal care and husbandry is our priority) available to start in around 4 weeks.

Could be full or part time, ideally with experience but would consider an apprentice or trainee.

Salary dependent on experience

Please email in the first instance to enquiries@erringtoncheese.co.uk with some relevant details about yourself, experience you have etc. If you have any questions please call me on 0777 583 0707
